President Muhammadu Buhari has called on ministers not to fail Nigerians because they were voted in to tackle insecurity, corruption and many other challenges facing the country. The president disclosed this while presiding over the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) of his second term in office. According the Vanguard, the meeting started around 11 am in the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, with a rendition of the National anthem.
The president told the ministers that he expected them to double their efforts in this second tenure and work in harmony. Buhari also stressed that communication and teamwork are the hallmarks of success. Present at the meeting were also the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, head of service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, and National security adviser, Babagana Monguno.
The president also announced that a Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs had been created to institutionalize the various interventions of the government which support some of the nation’s poorest and most distressed citizens.
